For generations, people had come and gone. Nations had risen and fallen. Hopelessness prevailed, until an ancient promise was fulfilled. Jesus came to to shine light in the darkness. He carried our transgressions on the cross and defeated sin and death so we could have life. He has overcome the grave. He has defeated death. He is risen!

Do you ever think about what Jesus has done for you? Do you ever dwell on the richness of His glory, the work of the cross, the power of His resurrection or depth of His mercies. As we enter in to worship, let us remember why we worship our God.

So much has changed since last Easter. The world has been shaken. Life has been disrupted and what we once called normal seems like it may never return. It’s easy to be discouraged when the ground beneath us feels like shifting sand. Now, more than ever, we need to stand on the truth of Easter. A day which changed our eternity and our world forever. Death was defeated, sin was conquered and death was rendered powerless. Today, may we remember the truth of Easter, the power of the resurrection and the promise of eternity. Yes, the world has been shaken, but the grave is still empty and Jesus…is still risen!

America is a nation in great need of God. In the midst of our freedoms, we have forgotten our first love. We have lost sight of the principles on which we were founded. We have forgotten that true independence is found in our dependence on God. Today, we humbly pray for God to hear His people…and heal our land.

As we gather around the world, we come to worship, to pray, to seek God and learn from His word. We come to fellowship, to connect, to serve and to do life together. But, more than anything, we come to glorify Jesus.

Worship is about humility. It’s recognizing who we are in light of who God is. It’s about approaching His throne and laying our crowns at His feet. Surrendering our all in a passionate pursuit of His will, so in all things, He may be glorified.

We are all created different. Yet we all have one thing in common. We were created to worship God. How we live, what we do, every moment of every day is meant to be an act of worship. We need to continually remind ourselves why we are here. We are here to give God the glory He deserves.

Life, at its core, is about worship. It’s about choosing to glorify God moment by moment, day by day. We need to continually seek to give honor to God no matter our circumstance. He is worthy…always.

Welcome people to church by letting them know they matter, they are cared about and they have a purpose. Let them know they have a found a place they can call home.

Sin had left us for dead. It had separated us from God and stolen our Hope. But God loved us. Through Jesus, sin has been conquered, death has been defeated and hope has been restored. The grave is empty, the stone has been rolled away…Hope has risen!

What does it mean to be a Christian? The bible tells us in great detail. It means we are adopted as children of God. It means we are redeemed, delivered and set free from sin. It means grace has covered our lives and mercy has clothed our bodies. Often times, Christian are portrayed in a negative light. We’re viewed as judgmental or hypocritical. But, at the core of our identity, is a heart held in the hands of Jesus. We are saved, We are a new creation, We are Christians.

What is your purpose? Why are you here? Although we are all unique, we will always have one thing in common. We were all created to worship God. There has never been a moment, where God was not worthy of our praise. As we run the race, let us remember, we are here to honor Him, to love Him, to serve Him and to worship Him.

Worship is about surrender. It’s about laying our lives at the feet of Jesus and declaring we belong to Him. It’s about complete devotion, unhindered praise and a passionate love for our Savior. It’s saying to our Father God; “I Am Yours”!
